Facts vs Perceptions

It is really useful to help students to develop awareness of others to help them to discriminate between facts and perceptions.
We usually interpret reality according to our own experience of the world, but many times we see objective reality from different perspectives leading us to make subjective inferences according to our own experience. The different perspectives on the same reality are all possible and should be accepted.

These images representing the observation and drawing of conclusions are really useful to help students to develop the flexibility to value and accept different points of view.
Starting discussions on topics like this one can help to get students involved. It is paramount that the teacher listens to the students’ contributions and responds to them. It will encourage students’ participation and this, in turn, will help them to develop fluency. Moreover, when students want to express their opinion, they will ask for the necessary language and will learn it while they focus on stating their point. They will be highly motivated to participate.
