 I'm proud and happy to share the article that I wrote for Perfect 'U' NEWU Magazine.

I love sharing my perspectives on education with the general public all over the world. This time, I have the chance of addressing women in India.

International Women's Day in Namaste Indian Group Magazine

 

I'm proud honoured to have had my article published by Namaste Indian Group. This time, the issue was devoted to honour women and I consider all women need (or better, must) have a say about the unfair situations many women undergo. If we make their problems visible, they are likely to get fixed by powerful people who care. If this is not possible, at least we will be doing our share to change the world. Let's go on doing little things in each one's context because they are the ones which bring about bigger changes.

It's been a real pleasure to work with Oxford University Press China. All the staff have been so respectful of my work and careful about every detail that, as usual, I have learned a lot while I was working with them. I never felt I was working. It was real collaboration among peers.

Teaching Social and Emotional Skills to Very Young Learners

 

Developing Social and Emotional Learning material for very young learners is a big challenge as well as a rewarding experience. We need to respect the kids’ needs and acknowledge their capacity to read reality. In this way, we can help them to reflect upon their experiences and draw their own conclusions.

As Diana Coholic* (2010) asserts, “arts-based and experiential methods are an excellent way to access, express and process transpersonal issues, thoughts, experiences and feelings.” As a consequence, we need to use them to create the ideal atmosphere for very young learners to dive into their inner selves, to focus on special issues and to learn to interact with others in a healthy way. Games and corners are useful tools to serve these purposes.

When I was offered the opportunity to develop booklets to be used to help very young learners to work in the development of social and emotional skills I decided to accept the challenge and I am really thankful to have done so. I have learned a lot about children and much more about myself. That is the magic of mindfulness. We mirror many behaviours and understand them better.

Light Up

Here I share some photos from the presentation at the 27th Advice Summer Seminar held at Salones del Puerto yesterday.
I had the chance to explain the basic tenets that support the Experiential and Project Based Approach used to design the whole Light Up series. The view of language that underpins the lessons was also at the heart of the presentation. I also showed teachers some ways to exploit the potential of the material developed and some possible options the digital platform offers to work on Blended Learning.
I enjoyed the experience of presenting my last "masterpiece" in my town.

27th Advice Summer Seminar- Presentation of Light Up

I'm really proud and thankful to be able to introduce this new series for students of English between 12 and 16 years old. I'm author of the Student's Book and Teacher's Book and I will try to share some useful ideas of how to exploit the potential this material offers.
