After having met Jane Setter in London, I had the pleasure of meeting Peter Roach at the PG meeting in Chile. They are editors of the Cambridge Pronouncing Dictionary, which was first compiled by Daniel Jones.
Peter has also published English Phonetics and Phonology, a useful book for beginners.
He is really generous as he is always ready to help people who want to start some research.
His online encyclopedia is also very helpful to study phonetics.
